my toddler has started to shake his head at random – is this “normal?”?

my toddler was 2 a few days ago. he was a late walker and is not really speaking much. He understands everything i say and follows instructions easily and answers to his name (unless thomas the tank engine is on the telly!!).
He tends to just say words of his favourite things, eg juice, choo choo, cheese
He is gradually starting to make attempts at new words.
He started a new dance a few weeks ago, turning around when music is on. This started by him shaking head and then he would turn. Now he just turns without the head shaking. But i have noticed he does shake his head from side to side at random throughout the day now.
Getting a bit worried – should i be ?

LOL! Sounds like my son! He’s 18 months and is not walking and went from knowing so many words to not using any. All I hear all day is mom, dad, um, bob, duck, doggie, cat, and bath. Anything he wants he screams.
But he also has started shaking his head for random reasons. It’s just the fact he’s learning something new. All babies develop differently so the head shaking is him trying to figure out what it means. Then you just teach him through your actions and words when he does it.
Every time my son does it I ask him, “What do you mean no?” Then I’ll say no and shake my head to show him what it means.
But nope, I wouldn’t be worried.
